High School

Grade 9 - 12 students may elect to do the full bilingual pogramme, or just the English programme.

Bilingual (Khmer-English) Programme

The school day begins at 7:10 am and ends at 2:55 pm (Gr 9 and 10) or 3:45pm (Gr 11 and 12)

Khmer classes, taught by qualified and registered Cambodian teachers, are scheduled before and after the English classes. Students recieve around 15 hours of instruction a week in Khmer. The core subjects (Khmer, Mathematics, Sciences, History and Geography) are taught following the Cambodian National Curriculum and prescribed resources. Students take the Grade 9 and 12 National Examinations.

English Programme

The school day begins at 8am and ends at 2:55 pm.

Grade 9 and 10 students are prepared to take the Cambridge IGCSE Examinations. Subjects include: English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and History. The Cambridge International Exams (CIE) curriculum and assessment standards are used to guide the teaching programme.

Grade 11 and 12 students may elect to prepare for Cambridge International AS or A Level Examinations. Students complete the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma course, which requires them to acquire 7 credits over two years. Subjects currently offered are:

*For these subjects, the CIE curriculum and assessment standards are used to guide the teaching programme.

Accreditation

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport

EWIS is registered with The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport to offer the National Curriculum and Exams.

WASC Accreditation

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is one of six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools. EWIS was accredited in 2013, for six years.

Cambridge International Exam Center

At EWIS we offer CIE IGCSE/AS/A level courses and exams. CIE exams are assessed though the university of Cambridge.
